Edge Ad Group Partner Receives Labor Council Award
The Rochester Labor Council presented the “Jim Schmidt Community Solidarity” award to Edge co-owner, John Rabish, at their annual Delegates Dinner on December 14, 2017. The award is presented each year to individuals and organizations for contributions of community service. Rabish was being recognized primarily for his efforts to pressure Monroe County administration into making improvements in the operation of Child Protective Services.
The Delegates Dinner was held at the Rochester Riverside Convention Center and was attended by almost 400 people from the local labor community, union supporters and political leaders. New York State Assemblymember, Harry Bronson, was the event’s key note speaker.
Rabish stated, “I was very honored to be recognized with this award. I am proud to have played a role in focusing the attention of the media and the public on the systemic problems in Child Protective Services, which place children in Monroe County at an unacceptable level of risk. This was truly a total community effort that involved many individuals, groups and organizations, all of whom advocated tirelessly on behalf of children in need.”
